Realtors are asking the B.C. government to remove the provincial portion of the HST on new homes immediately.
We've got some great lots at Hazelwood with back lane access. But, until now, we have had a shortage of plans that fit nicely on those lots.
We are pleased to announce a revision to our most popular plan, The Devonshire, that has the garage in the back instead of the front that fits very well on lots 1-24 out at Hazelwood.
Here is a front and rear view for you:
Just a reminder, we are open this weekend, Saturday and Sunday from 1-4. We hope to see you there.
Today in the Times Colonist there is an article about "protecting the riches of the strait." On the surface, this all sounds great - we live in a wonderful area and we need to value and protect what we have.
But, if you own waterfront, you may have reason to be concerned. One of the best parts about owning waterfront property is the ability to put a dock out front to launch your kayak or moor your boat. Currently, foreshore licenses are federally regulated to ensure that minimal harm is done to the ocean floor and to the creatures that live there. There is great concern already that this new "marine reserve" will make it harder than it is already to get a foreshore license or prevent current licenses from being renewed.
At this point, I don't have any facts about how things are going to be implemented, and from what I can tell, the answers are not out there yet. But, if you are one of the lucky few with waterfront and a dock, you may want to investigate further.

While not directly real estate related, I do know that many of my clients and friends are currently upgrading their iPhones and iPads to IOS 5. I've done it myself and really love the new features. The hardest part is finding out about all the new stuff that your phone will now be able to do. But, don't despair, I found a great website that will help you get the most out of IOS5.
Families are preparing to move to Hazelwood with 20% of our homes spoken for in just the first three weeks. We are thrilled with the response and very happy that buyers are recognizing the incredible value that we are offering!
As well, because we are happy to customize our homes as we build, most are taking advantage of that opportunity to really make their homes, theirs!
We have found that most of the interest has been on our lower priced models, the Devonshire and Thomas at $389,900 and the Bridlewood at $449,900. Our largest home, the Coachwood, with the detached garage and suite at $519,900 has had a lot of traffic, but no buyers yet.
We are about to change that!
For the next firm sale on a Coachwood, we are going to reduce the purchase price from $519,900 to only $499,900. That’s a great deal and can be applied to a new Coachwood, or to one of the three Coachwoods that are ready to move into today!
If there is any fine print, it would be that this $20,000 discount only applies to the next firm offer on a Coachwood, existing or new. There are no price changes planned on any other models as their sales are so strong!
